get rouged

Beauty tips & news from rouge artists and bloggers!

OK, let me first say I am from the class of ‘87, so our summers consisted of laying out, drenched in baby oil mixed with iodine and checking our tan lines while planning how to get our hair really big. I am quite sure we must have looked like stranded wet seals all lined up in a row.

So, I am definitely going to pay for the sun worshipping, but I have spent the last 17 years trying to reverse it. My clients ask me what I use for skincare when they find out I am turning the big 40, so here is my own little anti-aging recipe. Yes, I  do spend time and money on my face, I figure it doesn’t matter how nice my shoes are if my skin looks dull and tired:

1. Omega Oil- I swear by this supplement, I love the Trader Joe’s brand, it is inexpensive and no fishy taste. Omega’s have been shown to be beneficial to heart, brain and skin, I am a true believer!

2. I alternate every other night with vitamin c and retinol based serums. I love the Cellex-C, and the Glotherappeutics Super Serum, then I put a great moisturizer on. I have really been into the Caudalie Vinoperfect Night Cream and the Darphin Hydraskin.

3. For my eyes, I use a really good eye makeup remover, no tugging and pulling, then 3 times per week I use a retinol-based eye cream, followed by a really rich eye cream. During the day I use a lighter weight eye cream that won’t interfere with makeup. My faves are Caudalie Cleansing Water, Darphin Gentle Eye Makeup Remover, B.Kamins Eye Cream, and md formulations vitaplus anti-aging complex (for the retinol).

4. During the day I use at least an spf 15 moisturizer and glominerals foundation. Caudalie Vinoperfect 15 Day cream is lightwieght and loaded with anti-oxidents, and the glominerals foundation has a titanium dioxide based sunscreen and vitamins C, A, K, E as well as green tea.

And most importantly, when others are spending their summers getting golden, I am shunning the sun hoping my skin will forgive my for the 80’s…………. See you in the shade!

Well…no sympathy from this class of 83, 44 year old! I did the big hair and aluminum foil with baby oil and I too, have been trying to reverse the ever present signs of aging and damage I did to my face. No sun for me either, and good skincare since turning 30 has definitely made a big difference. I love the Super Serum, also, and the MD Formulations Vita-Plus Eye Serum with retin-A. My favorite eye cream is the Darphin Stimulskin as it’s hydrating and firming for those like me who have ever increasing circles! I’ll skimp on designer labels any day to afford my luxury skincare regimen!

Visit rouge in May/June and have us help you re-evaluate your skincare to make sure it’s right for you, now. We’ll send you home with 3 customized samples for you to try before you buy!

Andrea does look fabulous for her age by the way! I’m looking forward to having another rouge staff member in her 40’s!

See you at rouge!
Ann
